And when she eventually left in a flash we didn't know that this was just the beginning of the show with Leopard, Cheetah and Lions spotted successively in less than one hour in a 1 square km zone.

Here he is, the animals king with its furious roaring (ok ! in fact only a photogenic yawning in the middle of a nap). A good opportunity to appreciate the lion's impressive canines.
All 5 photos were taken during the same contact with this lion pair in Moremi for our first Safari in the Park. Only a selection of the dozens of shots from the same scene.
Apparently no pharyngitis !
Spotting a lion pride is generally the goal of a safari day. But after the satisfaction of the spotting, most of the time, you will observe only their ...nap. Thus, it is a great accomplishment when they make a simple move. A tail flap is interesting, a yawning is great, a nose scratch unusual...
...and a mating is a lifetime experience !
We spotted this lion pair in Moremi Kwai River area. Fortunately they didn't choose to hide behind a bush and gave me the opportunity to make the shoot. Sorry for the framing but I had not enough time to switch to a wider angle lens.
An other great moment in Kwando area. A large pride of lions has specialised in Elephant hunting ! The quantity of elephants in this area plus the number of hunters in the pride (about 18) makes this very rare situation possible. In fact, it's not unsual to see lions killing baby elephants. But here they are facing adults or sub-adults, generally isolated bachelors. I did not see the killing itself but that was certainly a very difficult moment to stand.
An elephant is of course a very productive kill that will provide the pride with enough food for a few days. And it seems to taste good !
